Back from Zero
On January 11th my hard drive died, taking with it a large chunk of Nothing Zero. Unfortunately the flash drive I had backed the book up on decided to eat shit as well, leaving me pretty much out of luck. I found portions of the original NaNoWriMo version back-up elsewhere, but given how the rewrite process was progressing it was pretty much useless.
In the days following my computer’s death, the prospect of starting Nothing Zero over wasn’t terribly appealing. I had written the book once, and was halfway through an incredibly extensive rewrite. Walking away from the burning wreckage would have been understandable. I could easily move on to something new and eventually return to finish the rise and fall of Nothing Zero.
I spent the next week giving considerable thought to my next move.
I’m pleased to say, I’ve just finished the first chapter of Nothing Zero (again). Needless to say, I don’t think I’m going to publish the results in the first quarter of this year. But that doesn’t mean I won’t try.
